What should I expect when I become a patient of a dentist?
On your first visit, you and a dentist will discuss your needs and desires
for your oral health. You will be generally recommended an examination
and x-rays.
In addition, I, Dr. Leads, will thoroughly explain what I have found,
the condition of your teeth and discuss any needed treatment. Our staff
will make sure that as a patient that you are treated with exceptional
service, kept very well informed, and are completely happy.
Is home bleaching safe?
Home bleaching systems can't bleach the teeth entirely, leaving spots.
In addition, many people are tempted to bleach too long increasing sensitivity
problems and often very unsightly result. When a tooth is bleached too
much it loses too much pigment and becomes more transparent (looking
grey). Professional whitening is much safer and more effective.
What is considered a dental emergency?
A dental problem would be considered an emergency if the condition involved
severe pain or bleeding which could not be controlled by over-the-counter
medications or conventional home remedies.
Happy Kids At what age should my child start visiting the dentist?
We suggest starting when all 20 of his/her baby teeth have come in -
this usually takes place 3 years of age. However, if any dark spots
on the child's teeth or concerns about a child's teething, then visit
a dentist.
How often should I get my teeth cleaned?
For effective dental maintenance, most people should have their teeth
cleaned every six months. However, each patient is unique and requires
different maintenance levels.
